The second wave of COVID - 19 has put immense pressure on the Indian healthcare system. The lockdown adopted by the state has impacted the livelihood of daily wage workers and those in the informal sector. There are speculations that the third wave is anywhere from 4-6 months away.

The focus of HID Forum’s relief efforts is on ensuring access to healthcare as well as providing food security. We are working in 8 districts in North Karnataka through 12 community educators and village and ward level volunteers - reaching out to children, migrant workers, survivors of domestic violence, dalits, youth, devadasi women, muslims and sexuality minority communities.

Who We Are

HID Forum is a not for profit social development organisation based out of Bengaluru. Rooted in Karnataka and Telangana states, we partner with the most marginalised and vulnerable communities like Women, Adivasis, Dalits (Manual Scavengers, Devadasi Women), Transpersons, Informal Sector Workers, Semi Nomadic Tribes and other minorities. Our engagements include partnering with civil society organisations like NGOs, CBOs, unions, people’s collectives and informal groups who work with these vulnerable communities.

TESTIMONIALS

The institutional building workshops facilitated by HID Forum enabled us to revisit our identity, structure, systems, capacity to do the work, relevance of interventions, activities, working environment and target groups.

ANITHA SANTHAKUMARI The Swallows India

HID Forum’s fellowship support to engage with the Muslim community especially women and construction workers helped us both individually as well as institutionally to engage with 2 unions.

ANAND S.N.
Mobility India

HID forum’s interaction with our organisation has been a complete eye opener for me. Coming from a completely unorganised and business background I was unaware of systems, policies and other aspects required for an organisation to function smoothly.
