What is HID

Human and Institutional Development (HID)

Ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of programmes has become one of the key challenges for Development organisations. To achieve this, it is not enough if organisations have human, technical and financial resources at a given point. They also need to continuously engage in organisational building processes that strengthen the overall alignment of vision, structure, systems and programmes. Such a process helps organisations to evolve in to robust institutions.

Developing human and institutional capacities of organisations thus is a process of enhancing organisational capacities, which will critically influence the overall programme effectiveness and organisational sustainability.
